FAQ’S
Important Information for U5/6, U7-U8, and U9-U15 Teams:

How many players are allowed on the field?page5image54803264

U9-U10: 7 max & 5 min (Play 7v7) 6 on the field and 1 goalie U11-U12: 9 max & 6 min (Play 9v9) 8 on the field and 1 goalie U13-U19: 11 max & 7 min (Play 11v11) 10 on the field and 1 goalie

What do I need at each game?

What you need at each game, including coaches' passes, players' passes, and a copy of the game card (for U9 and up).

Is there a Mercy Rule?

No mercy rule, but the limit to win is not more than 9 goals. Exceeding this may result in a warning and, on repetition, a 1-match suspension for the coach.

Subsitutions?

Substitutions can be made when the play is dead, such as the ball going out of play, a goal being scored, or the referee blowing the whistle.

Offside Rules?

Players aged U9 and above will play with the offside rule in effect. Coaches are encouraged to teach this rule as it greatly benefits players' development.

Direct vs. Indirect Free Kicks?

In soccer, a direct free kick allows the player taking the kick to score directly. Direct free kicks are awarded for fouls like tripping or pushing.
On the other hand, an indirect free kick is awarded for less severe infractions, like offside violations or when the goalie picks up a direct pass from an outfield player. The ball must touch another player before a goal can be scored from an indirect free kick. If a goal is scored directly from an indirect free kick, it does not count, and the game restarts with a goal kick. (U9-U18n Only)

FAQ’S CONTINUED

-Ninth week has been built in at the end of the season for rain out games.
**WE DO NOT GUARANTEE NUMBER OF GAMES**
-Submit complaints through the Barbers Hill Youth Soccer website under the Misconduct tab.

- Extreme weather will be announced on GroupMe by the fields director between 3:30-5:30 pm. Lightning (download weather bug app and set radar for 10 miles) within 10 miles will require a 30-minute wait, and each additional strike resets the timer. Games will not be called until 5:30pm, no exceptions.
- Most games are played regardless of weather conditions, but extreme situations may lead to rescheduling. Practices are at the coach's discretion.

- Field information can be found on the Barbers Hill website under the Fields tab (including practice fields). Parents need to sit at minimum 4 feet away and are NOT permitted behind goals. No one other than the coach (with coaches pass) will be allowed on fields.

3. Round 3: Competitive teams at designated locations.
4. Round 4: Second pick for U9-U15 at designated locations.
